VHE has completed another custom order, crimping SAE 3000 flanges onto twenty 3" and 4" oil suction and discharge hoses for an oil plant in Vung Tau. Additionally, VHE technicians enhanced the hoses with a fire-resistant PJ sleeve, securely fastening both ends with hose clamps to ensure a highly durable protective layer.
What is an Oil Suction and Discharge Hose?
An oil suction and discharge hose is a specialized flexible hose designed for extracting, transferring, and pumping various types of fuels, gasoline, and petroleum products.
Construction Characteristics
- Inner Tube: Made of premium oil-resistant synthetic rubber (such as NBR), maintaining a smooth surface and providing excellent resistance to oil corrosion.
- Reinforcement: Composed of multiple layers of high-strength synthetic fabric braided with an inner helical steel wire. This steel core is crucial as it prevents the hose from collapsing under vacuum pressure and allows it to withstand high pressure during fluid discharge.
- Cover: Manufactured from abrasion-resistant synthetic rubber, highly durable against harsh weather conditions, ozone, and oil/grease exposure.
- Anti-static Wire: Typically integrates a copper wire to dissipate static electricity generated by fluid friction, ensuring fire and explosion safety.
Practical Applications
- Used in oil refineries and fuel storage terminals.
- Installed on ships and seaports for ship-to-shore or ship-to-ship oil transfer.
- Applied in tanker trucks or industrial systems requiring the transportation of petroleum with an aromatic content of up to 50%.
