Recently, Vietnam Hydraulic Equipment Joint Stock Company (VHE) completed a machining order of sixty 1/2" R2AT hydraulic hose assemblies, crimped with one BSP fitting and one JIC fitting, for an industrial engineering equipment company in Ho Chi Minh City.
Finished Product: 1/2" 2AT hydraulic hose assemblies, length L=700mm, crimped with one 1/2" male thread (21mm) and one size 10 fitting.Completed Quantity: 56 assemblies.Bill of
Materials:
- 1/2" 100R2AT hydraulic hose, maximum working pressure of 275 bar. Total: 39.2 meters.
- 1/2" 1-wire/2-wire ferrules.
- 1/2" Male BSP crimp fittings.
- 1/2" JIC crimp fittings - 7/8"x14 UN.
Packaging Requirements: Inspected and packaged according to VHE standards, strictly requiring plastic caps on both ends to protect the products from dust and damage during transit and storage.
Technical Analysis of Sinopulse R2AT Hydraulic Hose (Wrapped Cover)
The Sinopulse 100R2AT (or 2SN) series features a double high-tensile steel wire braided reinforcement, allowing it to withstand working pressures up to 275 bar for the 1/2-inch size. The highlight of this product line is its wrapped cover. Unlike smooth cover hoses, wrapped cover hoses have a textured surface formed by fabric curing tape during the vulcanization process, providing exceptional mechanical abrasion resistance against metal components in harsh factory or heavy machinery environments. The NBR synthetic rubber inner tube also ensures excellent compatibility with petroleum-based hydraulic fluids.
Technical Characteristics of Male BSP and JIC Fittings
- 1/2" Male BSP Fitting (21mm thread): Based on the British Standard Pipe standard, this thread is widely popular in hydraulic equipment across Asian and European markets. Male BSP fittings typically utilize a 60-degree cone sealing mechanism, ensuring a secure, leak-proof connection under high pressure.
- 1/2" JIC Fitting - 7/8"x14 UN (American Size 10): Standardized by the Joint Industry Council (USA). JIC fittings feature a 37-degree flare for a metal-to-metal seal, completely eliminating the need for O-rings. This characteristic provides outstanding vibration resistance, making them ideal for hydraulic drives in excavators, heavy earthmoving machinery, and industrial equipment subjected to continuous dynamic loads.
VHE's Standard Hydraulic Hose Crimping Process:
Step 1: Hose Cutting. Use a specialized hose cutting machine to sever the 1/2" hydraulic hose into precise lengths of L = 700 mm, ensuring a clean, square cut.
Step 2: Ferrule Insertion. Slide the 1/2" ferrules onto both ends of the hose. Depending on the hose and ferrule types, technicians may apply skiving or non-skive methods before insertion.
Step 3: Fitting Insertion. Fully insert the male BSP fitting into one end and the JIC fitting into the other, ensuring the fitting barbs are deeply and securely seated against the hose's inner tube.
Step 4: Crimping. Place each hose end into the hydraulic crimping machine. Select the correct crimp die set for 1/2" 2AT and adjust the crimp diameter and pressure settings according to the manufacturer's specifications. Crimp the ferrule so it permanently deforms, compressing the rubber and wire braid tightly onto the fitting insert.
Step 5: Inspection and Cleaning. Use a digital calliper to verify the final crimp diameter. Flush the inside of the hose assembly with compressed air to remove any rubber debris, then install protective plastic caps on both ends following factory standards.
